You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great

You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great

There is a saying: You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

I have been going to physiotherapy for 9 months now and I exercise almost every day. With ease, but stable.

What does this have to do with music? Everything! If I don't have health, then nothing will happen. Physical movement not only helps the body, but also the mind.

I am preparing for the World Tour. It's not planned yet, but you need to be ready now. I don't want to get tired after a few concerts.

Happy Birthday Robertas!

It's Robertas’ birthday! Thank you for the ideas in music that take the songs to a new level, thank you for the diplomacy, thank you for the strength in moving forward, thank you for being part of THE ROOP!

Vaidotas in Bergen (NO)

Vaidotas: I came to the city of Bergen in Norway for a few days. This is my first time in this country. I felt that I had to get away from everyday life, because the household eats up a lot of time and does not allow me to focus on creativity.

We wrote a lot of songs with the band while we were in Sicily. Later, we improved their instrumentals in Lithuania.

Now is the time for the lyrics to emerge and for some that have already appeared to take their final shape.

The city of Bergen turned out to be a great place to retreat, to feel a different climate. In addition, our new team member Andres is located here, with whom we will cooperate more and more intensively.

Although the weather here is cool and humid, I really like it here.

I believe that new music will not know national borders and will sound freely in various countries.

P.S. It is very nice to meet local Lithuanians here too who say hello.

Surprise Visitors At Our Concert in Lithuania

Yesterday’s concert in Radviliškis surprised us a lot! It was hard to believe! 🤯But about everything from the beginning.

Ok, as far as we know, Radviliškis is not a big city, it’s just a very cozy small town in Lithuania. 🇱🇹 However, one of our most loyal fans from Italy named Rossella decided to come to the concert at this location! 🇮🇹

Yes, she flew from Rome specifically just for this concert and reached this place by bus. Incredible stubbornness! To Radviliškis!

It turns out that’s not all! At the concert, we found out that another couple had also come from Italy to see us!🇮🇹

And also - two guys came here from Warsaw, the capital of Poland! 🇵🇱

We share love with our fans and maybe that brings us all together and allows us to have a stronger and deeper connection. Thank you all! Love is all we got❤️

Here are the images of what happens after each of our concerts - lots of love, smiles, sometimes tears and hugs.

Our Music Writing Rules

Sometimes we get asked, how do we create songs? Maybe at first we listen to a lot of songs that are popular now? Do we follow some common rules?

No, we are generally not music lovers who know all the songs. We often create without conscious awareness. Yes, we have only one rule - the created song must evoke emotions for us and we must really like it.

"When it comes to making creative decisions, knowing less having little information - is often better than knowing more. It's a way of staying unattached."
-Rick Rubin

A Good Concert Consists Of Two Ingredients

In order for a concert to be good, both parties must participate in it - the artists and the audience. If everyone feels each other, exchanges energy and engages in a shared experience, then magic happens! Thank you to everyone who comes to our concerts and helps create this miracle.

Believe in your inner voice 🖖☀️

It is very important to believe in yourself and listen to what the inside says. Vaidotas will talk about the "Discoteque" vocal recording session.

.

Vaidotas: The whole band decided that we will go to the contest with the song "Discoteque". That track sounded weird, but my gut told me it was THAT song.

We have been recording vocals with our sound engineer Šaras for 12 years. He has supported us since THE ROOP was formed. This man became like an invisible member of the band and we love him very much.

So, I go to record the vocals and give him the song to listen to. The sound engineer listened several times and said: "Well, not a hit, not a hit this time, but... a good song anyway."

My heart almost jumped out of my chest. I wanted to cancel everything and tell the band members that we will not participate in the Eurovision selection. Somehow I did not do that. I took a breath. I thought that even though the sound engineer is a person I love very much, his opinion may not necessarily be correct. And my inner voice said - this is a hit!

I tried to regain my composure. It worked. I went to record vocals. So these vocals, which sound in the song, are recorded after a half-hour period from wanting to give up everything.

"Discoteque" became our biggest hit and achieved a lot internationally. The song is played on radio stations in Europe, America, Brazil, Australia and many other countries to this day.

Believe in your inner voice🖖☀️

Changing Your Life

"If you're serious about changing your life, you'll find a way. If not - you'll find an excuse." -Jen Sincero

Vaidotas: Photo from Sicily when I was listening to our new demo songs. I realized that this is a dream come true: to be healthy, to travel, to create and try new things, to feel the warmth of the sun. A few years ago, it was really hard to leave all day jobs and just stick with music without any guarantee.

5 Days In Sicily Passed

5 days in Sicily passed in an instant. We already have some new songs! Italian hospitality, nature, food and people inspire us and allow us to relax and not be afraid to experiment in music.

There were also adventures! We went for a swim in the sea of the rocky coast. Mantas dived and lost his wedding ring! Somewhere in the water between the rocks. The probability of finding it was small, but the three of us rushed to search and found it!

After leaving the studio, we visited the town of Santo Stefano di Camastra, our Villa host Enso showed us ancient caves and treated us to a Sicilian dessert called cannoli. Mmm

New Creative Phase

In 5 days we leave for Sicily (Italy), where we will create new songs in our creative camp. We are already making a list of the necessary items. A new creative phase awaits and as always, we do not know where it will take us. Maybe we seem quiet and a little lost. But the inner workings are just boiling! We feel on fire again!

Summer is a magical time

Summer is a magical time. It is enough for the sun to warm the earth and suddenly everything becomes brighter, more fragrant and easier.
