A Good Concert Consists Of Two Ingredients

In order for a concert to be good, both parties must participate in it - the artists and the audience. If everyone feels each other, exchanges energy and engages in a shared experience, then magic happens! Thank you to everyone who comes to our concerts and helps create this miracle.

Believe in your inner voice 🖖☀️

It is very important to believe in yourself and listen to what the inside says. Vaidotas will talk about the "Discoteque" vocal recording session.

.

Vaidotas: The whole band decided that we will go to the contest with the song "Discoteque". That track sounded weird, but my gut told me it was THAT song.

We have been recording vocals with our sound engineer Šaras for 12 years. He has supported us since THE ROOP was formed. This man became like an invisible member of the band and we love him very much.

So, I go to record the vocals and give him the song to listen to. The sound engineer listened several times and said: "Well, not a hit, not a hit this time, but... a good song anyway."

My heart almost jumped out of my chest. I wanted to cancel everything and tell the band members that we will not participate in the Eurovision selection. Somehow I did not do that. I took a breath. I thought that even though the sound engineer is a person I love very much, his opinion may not necessarily be correct. And my inner voice said - this is a hit!

I tried to regain my composure. It worked. I went to record vocals. So these vocals, which sound in the song, are recorded after a half-hour period from wanting to give up everything.

"Discoteque" became our biggest hit and achieved a lot internationally. The song is played on radio stations in Europe, America, Brazil, Australia and many other countries to this day.

Believe in your inner voice🖖☀️

Changing Your Life

"If you're serious about changing your life, you'll find a way. If not - you'll find an excuse." -Jen Sincero

Vaidotas: Photo from Sicily when I was listening to our new demo songs. I realized that this is a dream come true: to be healthy, to travel, to create and try new things, to feel the warmth of the sun. A few years ago, it was really hard to leave all day jobs and just stick with music without any guarantee.

5 Days In Sicily Passed

5 days in Sicily passed in an instant. We already have some new songs! Italian hospitality, nature, food and people inspire us and allow us to relax and not be afraid to experiment in music.

There were also adventures! We went for a swim in the sea of the rocky coast. Mantas dived and lost his wedding ring! Somewhere in the water between the rocks. The probability of finding it was small, but the three of us rushed to search and found it!

After leaving the studio, we visited the town of Santo Stefano di Camastra, our Villa host Enso showed us ancient caves and treated us to a Sicilian dessert called cannoli. Mmm

New Creative Phase

In 5 days we leave for Sicily (Italy), where we will create new songs in our creative camp. We are already making a list of the necessary items. A new creative phase awaits and as always, we do not know where it will take us. Maybe we seem quiet and a little lost. But the inner workings are just boiling! We feel on fire again!

Summer is a magical time

Summer is a magical time. It is enough for the sun to warm the earth and suddenly everything becomes brighter, more fragrant and easier.

2 years ago today, we opened Eurovision with "Discoteque"

2 years ago today, we opened the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Discoteque". It was an unreal feeling to see the arena full of people. The pandemic had still not allowed to have live meetings with fans or to go dancing in the Eurovision Village. But the memories are still very alive and the best!

Amsterdam Again

Amsterdam greeted us with sunshine and a wonderful audience at the concert. We are grateful.

We were always asked, what does the cameraman do? We can reveal this intrigue - we have started filming THE ROOP documentary! This is a long time project - work will take place throughout the year.

We'll be very candid about our behind-the-scenes, songwriting, pursuit of goals, successes and failures. We believe it will inspire many people. We will present the film next spring.

Vaidotas On The Cover Of "MOTERIS"

Vaidotas became the cover face of the April issue of "MOTERIS" magazine. In this interview, Vaidotas talks about life's winding and rocky path, knowing how to straighten up and move on, about self-preservation, allowing yourself to rest and look around where you are moving.

"Pavasaris" Out Now!

Today The Roop introduced a new track “Pavasaris” (“Spring”) along with a vibrant music video. According to the musicians, the song is about the awakening of nature and everyone's inner self. About moving forward and openness.

Everything was filmed in two locations in Lithuania - a Botanical Garden in Kaunas and a studio in Vilnius. The music video was directed by a young promising director Rokas Makarevičius. What’s interesting is that in the lyrics you might also recognise verses from classic Lithuanian literature.

“In the lyrics of the song, we purposefully used the “Spring Joys” section of K. Donelaitis's poem “The Seasons”. We wanted to incorporate Lithuanian literary classics into modern music. So you will definitely hear the motifs of “Jau saulelė vėl atkopdama…” (“Now the sun rose again…”). We are happy with the result,” - smiled leader Vaidotas Valiukevičius.

At the same time, in this track, for the first time, you can hear Vaidotas rapping. Although the musician himself says that it is more a recitation of lines of K. Donelaitis. One way or another, it gives the song a whole new flavor. Hear for yourself.

The Mood is Great - 2 Days Left Until "Pavasaris"

The birds are chirping outside that there are 2 days left until the song “Pavasaris” ("Spring") is released! The music video is already done, the mood is great, we are waiting for Friday! 🌼🌱
